Sand them all down to the wood frist
Darlene,. Sand the cabinets first. Next paint the doors on a flat surface to avoiding peeling and streaks. High gloss if it's the kitchen. Spray the hardware, or buy new, it gets pricey. Aloha!
Darlene,. This question comes up very often. Your peeling is from not painting the doors on a flat surface. Rent a sander from Home Depot or Lowe's, you'll have to leave a small deposit. Take off the hardware and sand the cabinets. Wipe them from the dust. Paint with a high gloss, and you can spray paint the hardware. Wear glasses, sand gloves. Aloha!
Definitely clean the cabinets really well and use a bonding primer before you paint. Here's a tutorial that I did:
