How to effectively clean auto glass windshields?

    Mix 1/4 cup vinegar to 3/4 cup water to spray bottle and wipe with newspaper

    pure rubbing alcohol and clean cloth no fabric softener on cloth and no paper towels they are coated/made with chemicals to improve absorption but will streak and smear;dump rubbing alcohol on cloth then wipe window use another clean cloth to wipe dry if you can use both hands even better one hand wet cloth one hand dry cloth.My friend details cars this is what he does.

    The auto glass company in my area uses Sprayway Glass Cleaner. You can find it at Menards and WalMart. I have even see it at my local grocery store. It works very well. No streaking. The vinegar and water solution mentioned in another answer works well too! Wiping it off with wadded up newspaper is the key!

    Hi Alex,

    I agree with Vicki that vinegar & water are good however, I use equal parts of vinegar and water with a few drops of Dawn. I also prefer to use a microfiber cloth, but both are very similar so you choose. :) Wishing you the best.

    My favorite for all windows & mirrors is microfiber & water. Supercloth is the brand I like best.

    I use windshield washer fluid. That's what it's made for. Does have alcohol in it.
