How do I replace the broken, uneven dowel from a chair rod?
How do I replace the broken, uneven dowel from the rod (separated from the chair) of the chair. I think that I need to make a winch somehow. If anyone has any ideas, please share with me. The rod with the broken dowel is already removed from the chair. Thanks.

Hi Fran, would you mind posting a photo for us?
Hello, Im not sure what is broken, if a safe repair can be done. If you are looking to reglue and tighten, bungee cords or a ratchet strapping tool might work with wood glue.
A picture would be a huge help. That way we could know what you are working with.
