How to repair back of the foux leather sofa?
I have a three dogs that destroyed the back of the sofa that was originally covered in faux leather. I could buy another piece of leather in Joan's or somewhere else but how to go about putting it on - any glue suggestions etc.?

I’d ask a shoe repairman since they can make leather on shoes look new. I think they use a wax. Or like you said reupholster with new faux leather. I had the same problem when I didn’t have my last kitty declawed. I couldn’t do that to her. I canned the whole sofa & loveseat. Just got another one on Marketplace.
E6000 glue.
Use wide heavy duty black duck tape and place a throw over that area. Or get a larger than the file piece of black leather vinyl and use furniture vinyl/leather blue to patch the area :-)
Use a slipcover
