How do I get smell out of carpet?

I have tried pet carpet cleaner to get the urine smell out to no avail. What can I do to get smell and discoloring out of it?

Hello Linda! One question I have is how long have you had the pet urine spots on your carpet and is your pet continuing to go in that area? There could be urine on wood trim and under the carpet that has soaked into the wood which would make it more difficult to get rid of the odor.
Only about 2 months, no it doesn't continue to do that.
Have you tried to use a steam cleaner from a supermarket then add clothes soap to it for soap 1/2 cup for a tank
