How do I get ink from a gel pen out of carpet?

I have beige short ‘shag’ carpet. The dog chewed a gel pen, the ink has stained the carpet in two areas about 3 inch diameter circle areas. Thanks

Hi Patti,
Use non-oily hair spray or alcohol, apply it and blot until gone. It is the alcohol that dissolves the ink stain.
Try alcohol. It really depends on the ink that was in your pen, but alcohol dissolves a lot of them
You can also try spraying with cheap lacquer hairspray, blot with paper towels or clean light colored rags, repeating until no color remains. Good luck!
Shaving cream....spray on stain, wait a few seconds, rub in a circular motion with fingers, blot, repeat and then blot till you can dry as much as possible. Let dry all the way then vacuum. It really works !!!
