I have a ceramic coated gas stove. And all I use is a baking soda paste, allow it to sit while washing dishes, then use a non abrasive scouring pad. Years ago I inherited a old gas stove, when we bought our house. I used oven cleaner on that one. A bit nasty, i know, but it worked. Good luck!
