Not realy because the sides won’t have the groves to snap into
Hi Angela. I'm Cindy. Yes, you can. I would cut the plywood into planks first. I like the idea of using a few different shades of stain on them. That way you would still be able to see the grain of the wood. But that's just my preference. You can also paint them. Remember to stagger the seams when you put them up. Good luck Angela.
Hi Angela! Yes, we've used plywood to shiplap plenty of times and it's an inexpensive way to get the look for less. I have a tutorial on how to do it including what kind of plywood to buy and tips on installing it: https://www.simplicityinthesouth.com/tutorial-and-tips-shiplap-walls-in-the-master-bathroom/
we did this and just bought sheets of v-grooved plywood panels. we found it at a home depot with 2-1/2" spacing...with trim on top, looked just ship lap
yes, we found v-groove paneling that had 2-1/2 to 3 inch spacing. just used that with a trim on top. since this was an unfinished space above the garage, we also used it in the rafters/ceiling. it all has a shabby chic tone.
