Spray with bleach and scrub
Hi Patti,
I have used an old toothbrush in the past, but they sell toilet brushes specific for this unique purpose on Amazon.
I would use the cleaners that spray on like foam and saturate the holes. Let it set a few minutes before wiping clean. I use Simple Green for all my disinfectants and deodorizers. It is non-toxic cleaner. It does not foam but you can spray it on too.
I've had success using the thick clingy toilet bowl cleaners. I squirt it under the rim. Let it sit for several minutes. Get a new brush with really soft bristles and scrub up under the rim. Let it sit for several more minutes and scrub again then flush.
