HOW TO PLASTER A WALL FOR BEGINNERS DIY
Look for videos on You Tube. Do you want actual plaster or drywall finishing?
Hi there, Best to get a professional to do this for you if it is a large area and you want a good result. Always try to practice smaller areas before going larger.
Tips I’ve learned after years of doing patching;
#1. Apply THIN layers of “mud” plaster and sand flat after each coat after it’s thoroughly dried.
#2. Filling holes with a thick blob of mud is a BAD idea because it takes forever to dry, sags, and is horrible to sand. See tip #1.
#3. If you’re joining 2 sheets of drywall, use drywall tape which you adhere with a thin swipe of mud. Feather the mud thinner an inch or so past the edge of the tape. Let dry completely the sand. Repeat until the whole joint feels flat.
