How to prevent floor damage from leaking laundry washer?
The laundry machine on the 2nd floor had a big leak and water dripped to ceiling of the main floor and caused a ceiling mark. We want to know if anybody has a project/idea to prevent leaking to spread e.g. having a tub-like floor around the machine.

Home Depot sells plastic pans to put under the washer. Very inexpensive.
yes you could build flooring like the bottom of shower but install drain could be very expensive or get a pan that fits under them they aren't real deep but would help https://www.walmart.com/ip/Eastman-Washing-Machine-Pan-52525/832398496?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227089739597&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=202815387820&wl4=pla-329082629890&wl5=9030040&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=832398496&wl13=&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuJGmupvI4AIVKSCtBh2pEgdaEAQYAyABEgIopPD_BwE
Stainless steel braided water lines in extra long length. Extra depth floor pan upon which washer sits. If washer is a front loader, they are notorious for "walkingL, due to the high velocity spin speeds. Many builders advise against placing front loaders beyond basement level, for this reason.
Install a flood alert system with 100 dB alarm at base of outside of washer to detect leaks. Install whole house leak alert that notifies your mobile phone and automatically shuts off water.
Wow. Thank you so much guys. We'll definitely check all possibilities you suggested.
