How to enclose an open closet using curtains?
I live in the tropics with an ocean view. The climate tends to make my stored clothing feel damp due to the constant moisture. I have shoes and clothing hung in a opening storage unit which does not provide privacy and not very attractive. However, the ventilation is vital. What can you suggest that is inexpensive and modern-looking? I thought about using curtains and a tension rod. The area is an "L" shaped wall.

Hi Dawn, First thing I would do is get a product called "Damp Rid". You can hang it in your closet. I'm not endorsing this site, just a visual so you know what to look for should you decide to go this route. https://www.amazon.com/DampRid-Hanging-Fresh-16-Ounce-3-Pack/dp/B072LN492H/ref=asc_df_B072LN492H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198079845992&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6998155198366715323&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011817&hvtargid=pla-351207408623&psc=1

Good luck!
Hi, Try Curtain Wire and 2 hooks across opening.
I think that would be perfect! You could find something that coordinates with your bedding and even use tie backs like a regular curtain.
Have you considered using a spring tension rod and something as simple as a sheet? We did that in college where it was very damp also. Also, those little gel tabs that come in medicine and pill bottles are great. Also sometimes they come in boxes shipped when you order anything online. They make great moisture absorbents to keep out moisture if you can find them or save them for drawers, closets or anything where you want to keep it dry.
We put up curtains on my husband's closet after we took down the bifold doors. We used drop cloths. Here are some photos: https://www.aratariathome.com/blog/our-master-bedroom-reveal
I've done this using curtains and a curtain rod and it worked well!
