Citristrip is a good choice to use indoors.
If you want the stair treads to be raw wood, check to make sure they’re NOT pine. As that would be a waste of your time. Pine is soft and not suitable for stair treads in a raw form.
Paint stripper will take it off. It’s messy.
A power sander will take it off. It’s messy unless it has a vacuum attachment.
There is no easy way, that I know of, sorry.
Thank you for your input. I'll give the Citristrip a try first. :)
Hi Pam,
One of the tips that I learned about Citistrip is to cover it with plastic once you apply it to the surface. The plastic will keep it from drying fast and give the product more time to work. Also, with any kind of stripper, you might need to do it more than once so don't get frustrated if it doesn't all come off on the first try. Wishing you the best.
Hi Pam, you want to get back to raw wood? Hope this helps,
