Why not just install a water softener system? Excessively hard water wreaks havoc on dishwashers, and your glassware and dishes may never appear "spotless".
Have you tried Finish Rinse Aid or Jet Dry? I use the liquid kind that you squeeze into the washer not the baskets that clip on the side of the dishwasher. We have very hard water. Once a month or so, I wipe out the build up and put a cup or two of white vinegar in the top rack of the dishwasher and run it on the hottest wash. Ours is called 'high temp scrub' and put on 'air dry'. Seems to help and vinegar is cheap.
Ok not sure if you are talking about the dishwasher or your glasses. First blow off those silly rinse aids and pour white vinegar directly into the rinse aid compartment. Works great and super cheap. Next if you think your glasses themselves have stains you cannot remove and are not waterspots that wipe off you are really looking at etched glasses. This can easily happen from the minerals in the water. If you have a soft water system you are using too much detergent. Less is best for both washing machines and dishwashers. 1-2 tablespoons. Every couple years I buy new glasses.
empty a packet of lemonade koi laden into the dishwasher (without the sugar type) and run a full cycle.
Any lemonade envelop will work. I've used it for years when needed. Fill up the soap container and run the dishwasher. It's like magic!
Use vinegar and baking soda
