Lisa! This is a great question and one I have been thinking about as well. I have all sorts of artificial flowers for the different seasons in bags in the basement. I want to make them easy to store besides just my large garbage bags! Here are some things I found!!

I use a large plAstic tub , actually for holding gift wrap , it works well. Then I use a plastic shoe box to hold ribbon , floral tape , wire clippers , and floral staples .
Hi Lisa!
This is one of my favorite blog posts about artificial flowers, if your scroll down, tip #12 has storage suggestions. I personally store my flowers wrapped in tissue paper or plastic bags inside totes. This prevents the flowers from being crushed.

I store my flowers in a tall rubbermaid can..no lid..with a clear trash bag covering the top. Nothing gets crushed or dusty.
Take 3 or 4 inch PVC pipe cut into approx. 15 inch long pieces and stack those upright in a plastic bin or cardboard box. Then sort your flowers according to type/color and put one type standing upright in each tube. This prevents crushing and you are able to sort through flowers/stems easily. You could also use old vases and put them in a liquor store wine box--with the cardboard divider pieces intact to prevent glass from breaking--much the same way. It's a good way to recycle some things around the house.
This is how i have resolved my problem an old spring from bed it doesnt take up floor space and im excited to start on my new project
