I would not leave toilet cleaner in the bowl for that long. You can clean the toilet when you get back from your holiday!
if the "cleaner "is colored blue or green liquid it will stain toilet bowl maybe permanately may mess up finish,if you want to leave anything in toilet just straight vinegar would be fine.....but I agree with GK nothing is best....... You should turn off the main water supply when you’re away from your home on vacation, even for short weekend trips. This keeps your home safe from flooding while you’re not around.
Leave the lid open and when the water level reaches a certain point the toilet with flush..No need to pour toilet cleaner in the toilet for such a short time. If you have to..use plain vinegar..
We had a villa in Florida and we would clean the toilet. Leave the lid and toilet seat up. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap, press down on the sides for a good seal. Then put the seat and lid down. It should be in the same condition when you get back home.
Do not mix bleach with toilet bowl cleaner as Mad29883817 suggested. This could be very dangerous.
Why not leave hydrogen peroxide in the toilet?
Clorox has 3 month drop in tablet (put in the tank) that keeps your toilet clean with every flush.
I agree with Reba. The toilet water with the cleaner on top will evaporate leaving a thick ring of blue cleaner at water level. If you don't put anything in the bowl and don't cover it, the ring will be a yellowish mineral color. Cover the toilet with film and turn off the water. Just my opinion.
