Try peanut butter. It will make it slimey and then use a lot of Dawn or grease cutting detergent in a pan of hot water.
Ice will make it hard and easier to pick off, less sticky.
You can put ice on it or if too messy, put the sleeping blanket in the freezer and take it off quickly with a dull knife after it has frozen solid.
Freeze the blanket and try scraping it off with a sharp knife. If that doesn't work, try working peanut butter into the gum until it slides off and then launder.
Lay the gum area of blanket, gum side up, on the ironing board. Heat up the iron. Lay a piece of paper bag over the gum and set the iron on it. Do not leave long. Lift up the paper. If gum has stuck to it, toss. As the heat softens the gum, it will stick to the bag. Repeat.
I’ve also did this to gum on carpet, but make sure it’s not overly hot and that the carpet is covered good. You do not want the fibers of carpet to touch the iron, possibly burning it.
Try WD-40 and work it in. All natural cleaner
Try freezing the gum with ice cubes, it should just peel off. Works well for gum in kids hair too😉
