Hi Sun, Use Rust Oleum or Car Spray Paint or any metal paint.
After prepping them use a paint for metal, spray paint may be the easiest. Use thin coats to prevent drips and use the directions for timing between coats.
Rustoelum spray paint would be my first choice.

Hi there Joan, before you start clean furniture first. If there is any rust, remove with a stiff wire brush. Once the prep work is done and everything is clean and dry, you are ready to paint. I would suggest using Rustoleum. They have loads of colors to choose from and built in rust protection. You might want to go with 3 coats of paint. Remember light handed spraying is the secret to success.
Thank you so much. Should I also then use a varnish or anything after to seal or is the Rustoleum good enough?
No varnish afterwards, but before then, Full Prep Work is critical. Then wipe down with dollar store alcohol and not water.
If there’s still rust, buy a Rust Converter Spray, Primer for rusty metal and then two full coats of an exterior grade spray paint.
I would not buy gloss as it shows imperfections.
Make sure the weather is warm and not humid.
Hi Joan,
Use Hammerite or RustOliem Metal Paint .
