Don't wait until you can see it. Do the walk around with a microfibre cloth on your way to preparing your morning coffee. Make it a routine and you will be pleased with yourself.

I have a microfiber duster on an extending wand that I do like Angela says...walk around and hit the flat surfaces as I go from room to room.
Consider "wet dusting." I live in a hot, dry, dusty climate. I dust or clean constantly. No way around it.
Each room has a designated day for cleaning. On odd days I hit em with the leafblower. Once you retire you learn to adapt.
