You can purchase various shades of window tint at your local big box warehouse and online. Google window tint. Application Directions are on the box. You will need scissors, straight edge, spray bottle and a towel. Measure one window and draw a pattern. Cut it out and place on window to insure the cut is perfect. Adjust if necessary. Gather installation items that you will need. Make a pattern out of typing paper or a magazine sheet if it will make it easier for you. Adjust pattern if necessary. Good luck!
They now also have different films with designs that you can use. Some look like frosted glass, some look like stained glass. I used just the medium tinted uv rated film on my southern windows and it went well. Cleaned the windows then slightly dampened them and then placed the pieces of film that I had cut for each window in place. Wipe the film (Like wallpaper) in a smooth motion to remove air pockets. Has been in the windows for 25 years now and still holding well. One warning though, be careful on what you use to clean the film. Some cleaners will turn the film cloudy.
Hi Pearl,
Do you mean painting like a stained glass window or putting a pre-made design on the window? A lot of people are using window film and they come in a lot of patterns now. You can find them at places like Home Depot, Lowes and online at places like Amazon. You'll probably find more patterns if you search online. If you want to paint your windows to look like stained glass, here's a video of a Hometalk member sharing how she made a faux stained glass window with patterns, white glue and craft paint. Wishing you the best.

I bought a " stick on " film that looks like stained glass for a small window at Home Depot, I can see out of it, no one can see in, it's been 6 months and it is still covering the window, no problems so far.
