You could use wipes which have a disinfectant in them. First wash your counter down with hot soapy water after each use and use a clean dry cloth to dry it off. Be careful with your cutting boards when preparing chicken, etc. Never prepare more than one meat on anyh one board. Only use the utensils once for each thing you are doing so as to not transfer any salmonella to other objects. Keep washing your hands so you do not transfer to other appliances, door handles, etc.
I spray any crawly bugs like ants with window spray and them wipe up, it kills them instantly and removes their pheromone trail.
I use a solution of water and vinegar with lemon oil. I spray down counters at night. It deters ants and makes your kitchen smell great.
For a good cleaning solution and disinfectant, use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. This is basically the solution in the bleach wipes in the stores. Make your own, use the bleach/water solution in an old coffee tub with a roll of paper towels cut in half in it. Instant wipes for your counter and a fraction of the price.
To keep the bugs at bay, like ants. Mix some borax soap in sugar water and soak cotton balls in it. Place on counters (in a dish to protect counters) in a spot they are at. They will take back to colony and die.
