How do I save time?
Is it better to clean one room at a time, or do all floors, or all drawers, or all counters, etc.?

one room at a time.
Best is what works for you. My preference is to clean one room at a time. Have a cleaning supply bucket. I do the bathrooms first, then move on to other rooms.
Depending on the task. Dusting & floors I usually just tackle at least 1/2 the house. I tidy up a little each time I leave a room. Kitchen, always at the end of the day after I load dishwasher & finish hand washing I wipe down appliances & counters then give the floor a quick sweep.
Not sure about drawers, I usually only work on those if I'm re-organizing.
One room at a time. If you do all the floors, drawers or counters at once it may be overwhelming. You may not continue on with your cleaning job. Start with one room at a time and finish that room before you continue on to another room. You will then know that feeling of satisfaction that an entire room is done and can go on to another or do another room the next day.
I do one room at a time as I can contain the "mess" and reorganization all in one room at a time if it takes more than one day. You can do it by subject if you like or combine the two like do all walls in the house or all floors in the house then go back to finish the details one room at a time. This would make more sense if you do not have a shampooer etc
