How to paint bedroom in a frame home with low ceilings?
Suggestions on painting walls/ceilings in A frame home where the ceilings are low and pitched and make up half of the room. How to make the walls look taller? So you paint walls and ceiling the same color or paint ceilings white?

Kay: I think your idea of painting all the same (light!) color is terrific!
I like a tone on tone look with the lighter shade on the ceiling (upper
wall). Another option is to paint the ceiling a soft sky blue which fools the eye into more space.
Ceiling paint is usually flat, but an eggshell or satin finish paint offers just a hint of reflective sheen. Realize, however, that a ceiling must be in near-perfect condition since higher-sheen paints can call attention to surface flaws.
In a room with an A-frame ceiling, the end wall is the natural choice for an accent wall, no matter where the bed is located. Paint the wall in a bold color to emphasize its different shape or cover it with wallpaper or planked wood paneling for an enhanced pattern or pleasing rhythmic lines.
Paint the wall beyond the top of the wall. In other words, paint the first part of ceiling around the perimeter the same color as the walls to give the illusion of taller, higher walls.
Hang artwork slightly higher than you normally would. Hanging small frames above door openings and windows also tricks the eye into thinking the room has higher ceilings. Set out a tall urn or vase filled withtall grasses or blossoming branches because it slows down the eye’s movement as it moves gradually upward.
Skip fans and ceiling or overhead lights because they draw attention to the ceiling. If you do hang a chandelier or pendant, hang it slightly higher than you normally would.
Stripes going up emphasize the vertical dimension and further tease the eye into perceiving the ceiling as higher than it really is. Because attic rooms often receive natural light through only one or two windows, keep the walls and furnishings light in color to brighten the space.
Use lower profile furniture with fewer horizontal elements (arm rests, for example) to emphasize the distance between the furniture and the ceiling. a platform bed and minimalist, low-profile furniture makes the bedroom feel less cramped. The head of a platform bed can be comfortably positioned under the slant of side walls. Low-profile cabinets and dressers can also be used in the narrow space between the slanted walls and the floor. A campaign style canopy bed frame floated in the center of the room or placed against a vertical wall accentuates the ceiling's climactic height with gracefully curving thin iron rails that swoop into an elevated crown.
