I would have gone back to the contractor, it was their job to clean up their messes during the work and after. A razor blade may cut the top vinyl layer of the planks. They are made much like laminate flooring, just more water resistant. Use a plastic scraper, perhaps warming it would help loosen it a little. Take care not to harm the surface. If nothing else, talk to the manufacturer for safe suggestions to remove the liquid nails.
