Lots of elbow grease and patience.
There are sprays to help strip wallpaper but just warm water( with a little vinegar) works. The key is giving it time to soak in and loosen the paste. If it is vinyl paper you will need to score it to get any liquid to soak in the paste. There are tools for that but I just used my metal scraper to loosen the edges to peel off the vinyl layer and started spraying the paper layer. A big sponge and bucket of water works instead of a spray bottle, too. The more patient you are with letting the paper soak, the easier it is scrape off. I found it easier to start at the ceiling to let gravity help.
good luck!
Score and steam is my preferred method.

If the wall, paper has a coating you may have to,score the paper. If you want it to smell great too use Downey fabric softner mixed with water,in a,sprayer and let it soak in. Keep in mind you will have to,scrub the wall down after,to,remove the last,of,the glue residue and the Downey remnants. TSP trisodium phosphate works, best. Soak peel and scrap away!
