Take doors down, pry up laminate as much as possible to get some contact cement under it. Lay something heavy on it over night or clamp.it.
A photo would help.
If the laminate is as thin as paper, that’s Melamine, which is plastic, factory bonded with heat & pressure. It will not pry up.
Underneath it is porous particle board.
There’s other posts on here about people who’ve painted these “foil” cabinets successfully.
Everytime I try to prime it, it still expands and looks terrible.
