last summer i used concrete blocks i sprayed holes with cheap water sealer. then placed in row end-to-end placed stakes in corners pf hole about every 2ft ran my fencing attached to stakes -then planted cucumber in holes. when the curly vines grew off plants -i gently attached to fencing by gently opening vines and placing on fencing -also laced plant through holes gentlly so plant would become part of fence to grow the cucs vertically -it worked great
I use these planter boxes and they work REALLY well. I got them on sale at Home Depot 3 years ago. They hold alot of veggies too. I have 3 of these boxes and this year I've planted 6 sweet peas, 1 pickling cuke, 8 bell peppers, 1 yellow squash, 2 dif lettuces and spinach. Just a little easier way to grow veggies for us older folks or those who have small spaces.
