How to build a palate deck on a cement pad?
So I am buying a small house for retirement in Wisconsin. I want to build a palate deck around existing steps from the back door. What tools and materials do I need and will it weather well there?

Palate wood is inferior. Yes you can paint or stain it, but not really made for decks. I'd go with pressure treated lumber at least. Go to you tube for tutorials on how to build a deck. There will be a lot for you to choose from that will give you step by step instructions . Also will have some on using pallets. Good luck.

You really should consider a different material if you expect your project to be out in the weather.
