How to Unclog a Sink Like a Pro
I cut little slits in a plastic drinking straw and push it into the drain to catch hair and other clogs.
There is a tool that you can get, I believe it is called Zip it. It is a long slender plastic stick with barbs that catches hair and it is cheap, only a couple of dollars and lasts a long time. It will clean the hair out of the drain pipe. Once that is done, put about a quarter to half cup of baking soda down the drain, follow that with about a half cup of straight vinegar. Let it foam and fizz until it stops. Put down half to a gallon of boiling water to rinse everything down. Hopefully one time with this hack will open this drain for you, but you may have to do it twice to get it completely open if it was really clogged. This hack will help get rid of the slimy stuff that collects on the trapped hair and stays behind when you pull the hair out. I hope this helps you, Lynne! It has already helped me many times. You can use the same hack on the tub/shower drain. You can use it on other sinks, too, just eliminate the removing hair part.
I’ve had luck mixing Baking soda and vinegar. Pour into drain; wAit a few minutes and pour a pot of very hot water in. Hope it helps.
