What's the best, fastest drying glue to use to hold mitered corners?
I don't have fancy power equipment, miter saw, etc., so what's the best, fastest drying glue I can use to hold mitered corners quickly? I've been using a glue gun, but my frames fall apart! Screwing metal L brackets on the back, but they're still woobly.

Hi Leah. I've used a combination of instant Super glue in the center surrounded by a thin layer of wood glue successfully. Placement needs to be quick and precise or your miter joint won't line up. For frames I used an old belt around the outer perimeter tightening just enough to hold and let the wood glue set for 20-30 minutes.
When I wanted to change the front of my kitchen cabinets , by glueing beadboard to the front , I used lock tight super glue . I glued , then used a small piece of masking tape to hold it in place while it dried . You can also try E6000 , it works on just about anything . Good luck !!!
I recently needed the same thing for an office remodel where I built a floating desk with only a circular saw. I used Gorilla Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive and blue painter's tape to hold my trim pieces in place for the 30 seconds it takes to hold. I bought mine at Home Depot, but here's a link to show you what it looks like:

The absolute best wood glue is Tightbond III, available at Home Depot. It is rated for exterior projects but I use it for anything. There are also two other formulas but I figure, hey, why not just get one that will glue anything. Less product to store. Just don’t use it on anything that you might want to take apart in the future as you will NOT be able to get it apart.
Super glue gel dries quickly and holds well!
