How to repair loose springs and supports under sofa?

    Remove the cover fabric underneath and then you can expose the springs. Take a look to see how they have been tightened and do the same thing by using a strong nylon rope or string, wire or even springs you can purchase at the store. Once you have fastened more securely, re-install the fabric on the bottom by stapling.

    Springs can usually be retied, support can be refastened, and the dust cover can be restapled. Turn the piece upside down, Peel it back a layer at a time until you expose all the issues. Generally, I review several YouTube videos before doing a project like this. Serena at Thriftdiving has videos on reupholstering a chair that explains the spring tying really well.

    I used wire ties to tighten the weak places. You tube will show you how.

    Agree with all above. Somewhere the springs have gotten detached from the other springs or the frame. If detached from the frame, you can wrap string or rope around the spring and re-staple to the frame. if detached from neighboring springs, you use zip ties to reconnect.
