How to decorate and create privacy with a bay window?
Hello, I have a bay window in my bedroom that I want to decorate, however there is only my driveway between the window and my neighbor's two-story house. Currently, I am looking for ideas that will allow sunlight in but still give me privacy. Thanks in advance.

You should post a picture so we can see size and scale of window. I have a bay window in my kitchen that needs privacy from neighbor's patio, but my bay window is over the kitchen sink so it's basic "don't stare at me while I do dishes" privacy, and not "I'm fully naked and getting dressed" privacy I was looking for. My solution was to purchase a somewhat large vase and tall, thin artificial flowers (willow wisps, etc.) that I could arrange in the vase somewhat "fan" like, so that it creates a shield from prying eyes while still letting lots of natural light in. If your bedroom bay window is larger and low enough - first of all - who wouldn't LOVE a bench seat in a bay window in their bedroom???? Put a bench seat in, and then treat the windows with sheer panels that are held tight to the window by both top and bottom rods, kind of like café curtains, or like you see when people use sheer panels on glass doors. You could use tie backs in the centers of the panels to gather them on days you want more light (and are already fully dressed), then take the tie backs out when more privacy is needed.
Most big box home stores carry window cling for privacy. I got mine at Lowes. Clean your window first. I used scissors, squegy and a spray bottle of water. You cut to fit your window and in no time.... privacy!
Rabbitgoo brand privacy film that applies with water & static would be my recommendation. I put some in my bathroom and it allows light but you can't see through it. If you want to remove it, you just pinch the edge and it pulls off with no mess.
Amazon has a great selection of privacy film for reasonable prices.
black-out drapes w/sheers that you can open during day to get full/partial sunlight you want/need in room & yet close at night when you need to block prying eyes and silhouette of you in your bedroom. the privacy films either block sunlight/created by frosted effect or more & with some you can still see silhouettes thru them,it's a trade off more private less light ,you'll need to determine how much privacy/light in room you need or if you want to see out your window at all.I like plants in my rooms/ windows so the dbl curtain/sheers work best, the bay window with the good lighting would provide a haven for some beautiful plants in your room the plants would also provid needed privacy when your drapes are open during the daytime when they need the light.
Use sheers and curtains. That way you still receive filtered sunlight, yet affords you some privacy. Draw the curtains to block out sun or want total privacy.
