I bought a house and there is a really ugly phone that is attached to the hole in the entrance way.
A shape craft knife will cut it easily. I think some call it a Stanley knife.
It's easier (and safer for your fingers) if you have one person hold the pool noodle taut, and another person doing the cutting.
Run two strips of masking tape down the length as a guide. Then cut the length between the 2 pieces of tape.
I used an old serrated bread knife.
