How do I refinish my kitchen cabinets to antique white?
I was told that to remove, clean, sand, polish and then paint the cabinets. Is there a way to just clean and paint?!

Hi Gail, without any kind of sanding to "rough up" the surface whatever paint you use will not last long. You don't need an electric sander, in fact just a small sanding block run over all the surfaces by hand is simple, quick and will be enough. After that YES you absolutely have to clean your cabinets really well first. I would clean them thoroughly, then sand them, then clean them again before priming.
If removing the drawers and doors is not an option you can just be really careful to paint them in place. Here's how my mom and i painted out here kitchen here:

Yes !!!!! I did a ton of research before I did my cabinets . I was specifically looking for a way to paint with out having to sand or use primer . I found 2 ways ... First , was using chalk paint , then use a sealing wax ( goes on like a stain , brush it on & wipe it off , it dries to a hard finish , not waxy ) my sister did it this way and her cabinets came out beautifully . I chose a different method I used advance paint by Benjamin Moore . 2 coats and I was done ! That being said , you still need to do some prep work before painting , with either of these methods . You need to clean them well .
I used 2 products made by Krud Kutter , ( both just spray and wipe with paper towels ) first a degreaser, that really cleans , even if you think they are clean , use this and it will clean them even more ! And second I used their de glosser , this helps get any " shine " off the cabinets and helps the paint adhere better , it sure beats sanding !!!
Then I painted doing 2 coats , letting the first coat dry completely before doing the
second coat . Hi an look at the step by step tutorial I posted on this site called
new kitchen on a budget . Good luck !!!!

I have not tried "mineral paint" yet but have read good reviews. Seems a bit pricey but would be worth it for ease of use and durability. Here is a link to investigate: https://lostandfounddecor.com/chalk-paint-vs-fusion-mineral-paint-whats-the-difference/
