After removing tile backsplash what's the best way to clean the wall?
I want to remove the current tile backsplash in my kitchen and replace it with different tile. What is the best way to clean the wall before replacing the tile?
I find the easiest way is to use a sponge and lots of water. Then when it is nice and wet use a flat scrapper and it should come off in long pieces.
The easy way would be if it were put up after the walls had "sizing" put on. There is no easy way. However, you need a scoring tool (round like a hockey puck) that has teeth rollers underneath. That puts tiny holes in the old paper and allows wall paper remover solution to seep in and loosen the glue. Try to get an edge loose at a seam, pry up with a putty knife, and hopefully peel the paper off. You might need to rent a steamer if the easy way doesn't work.
