Canning vegetables...propane camp stove or single electric burner?
How inconvenient is it to do canning outdoors? I am afraid of too much weight on kitchen glass cooktop, so looking for advice on best alternative burner.

Hey Edie, I don't know about canning outdoors, but I do can on a glass cooktop and haven't had any issues.
I've canned outdoors before using the propane burner for a fish cooker. It worked really well - and heats the water much quicker than the stove can. I had the same concern as you. However, since then, I have also used the glass cooktop and it worked fine - no problems with the glass top.
We do a lot of our canning outside on the side burner of the BBQ, like here: https://www.frugalfamilytimes.com/2013/08/simple-healthy-salsa-recipe-yes-you-can.html
I can in my garage using a garage sale stove no mess in the house. I also keep all my jars hot & ready while I am canning just before filling them. Make sure you have a table ready and keep filled jars out of a draft can cover with a light cloth. Just a tip.. ( I turn my jars over for 20 min the turn them right side up and they seal every time)
