You can put up a trellis and some fast growing ivy in front of it.
Hi Johnie,
Often people will build a fence using lattice fencing. Be sure to keep enough of it open to allow the air to move around the unit. Wishing you the best.
All air conditioning equipment must have clearance around it so heat can dissipate. Not allowing enough venting stresses the AC unit. The best fix is to place an openwork screen about a foot away from the unit. Posts are dug into the ground and lath, trellis, or reed/bamboo fencing is attached to the poles to hide the AC. https://cityfarmhouse.com/2018/04/modern-wood-slatted-outdoor-privacy-screen-details-on-how-to-build.html
An alternative is to plant a tall growing plant in a container in front of the AC unit. The container means you can adjust how close to the AC the plant sits as it grows. Containers are also necessary if you are using bamboo or some other aggressive grower. https://cdn.homesthetics.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/22-Simply-Beautiful-Low-Budget-Privacy-Screens-For-Your-Backyard-homesthetics-decor-16.jpg
Leaving enough room around each side you could put some trellis/lattice around it (or on 3 sides) and plant flowers/plants that are climbers, or even plant some taller plants/flowers like Glads or mini sunflowers etc and plant something like a bleeding heart on the corners or little shrubs, just leave one side so you can have access to the unit and don't plant anything to close to the unit
