How can I fix the drawers to my kitchen cabinets?
I have oak kitchen cabinets and the drawer boxes are falling apart. The sides, constructed of particle board, are pulling away from the drawer front. The front piece is solid oak. Since new kitchen cabinets are not on the horizon, I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience, and how they addressed the problem. The drawer box is too far gone to salvage.

Use the drawer parts as templates to build replacement drawers. Reuse the original drawer front.

Hi this is Sandy E 2000 works perfectly and it's permanent
I use Carpenter's glue (looks like yellow Elmer's glue). Then I slide the pieces back in place to make sure they will fit... sometimes you have to sand the edges. Then apply the glue. I will then apply straps or twine to hold it all together applying pressure for a tight fit. I wipe off the excess glue while still wet with a damp sponge. Let dry overnight.
I do this for my disabled clients, and I have one sitting on the kitchen table right now.
