Are you going to use the bedframe with springs and mattress? It seems it might be better to build one out of wood or purchase a metal frame.

Paint the outside ones that will show and simply zip tie them all together tightly. Is this more what you had in mind? None of us have a clear picture of what you mean by your question. Milk crates can be found at flea markets, yard sales or buy new ones at Walmart and othe similar stores.
