Hi Wendy, you can pave over the concrete deck. Pavers can be installed on top of an existing concrete deck, even if the deck is cracked. Lay some sand down first so the new deck will absorb small shifts without cracking the pavers.
Be careful. Pavers will make the deck higher so it could interfere with the edge of the pool. I have the same problem. Our pool and deck were put in in 1987. Over the years the concrete deck had begun to crack. About 7 or 8 years ago we had a guy who filled in the crack with cement crack filler and smooth it out. We then used Rustoleum Deckover and restorer https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/restore/deck-and-concrete-restore-10x/. It comes in several colors and you can get it at Home Depot. It is a very thick paint and fills in a lot of smaller cracks. When he was done it looked like brand new cement. I have been able to power wash it every spring and it held up nicely. This year however, I now see cracks forming but not where the original cracks were. I also think it needs a fresh coat in order to freshen it up. It's a great product if you don't want to replace the entire concrete deck or can't afford it right now. I also used it on our wooded deck the a few years later. We sanded down the rough spots, power washed it and then used the Deckover. That was about 5 yrs ago and so far it's looking fine. We live in NJ so depending on where you live, results may vary.
You can stain the concrete for a new look.
