How do I remove green from pool water?
In the past I have had no problem removing the green from my pool water. This year nothing seems to work...tried extra chlorine, shock, Greenout, etc. No luck....it's still green.

When I had a pool, I tested just about every day till I learned what to do for each season. Even though we had a weekly pool service year round, our pool saw a lot of action and did require at least some daily maintenance.
Mary Lou, you need to shock it 10x. If you want to maintain a 3, then shock with 30. Scrub walls first to release the algae and then do it on a hot day. Also, check your chlorinator. It could be clogged with cottonwood or pollen. And keep your chlorinator on while shocking. You should see results in 24hrs
Get a water sample tested. Pool pH has great impact on how well chlorine works to kill algae. The pool experts will tell you what to buy to balance the pH and get rid of the algae quickly.
