How to replace an old deck?
I have a 26 X 10 deck that is old and partially rotten. I want to replace the deck. Would I get a better return (selling my house soon) on a new composite deck or replace with 5/4 treated decking? Thanks to everybody in advance.

We don't want to have to replace it but it's looking very worn. Hoping there is something we can use to make it look better
If you're selling soon, talk to a local home appraiser to see if putting in composite will affect pricing. Look at your dollar-for-dollar ratio to see if you'll get a good return. My instinct leans toward treated wood.
Hi Rich,
Here's an article that might help you choose. There are good and not so good for the environment with both products. It depends on what YOU like and your budget. I'd also suggest doing more research on each type of product. Consider this the start of your research. Good luck and wishing you the best.
