Hi Mary, Pour a half cup of dish detergent (degreasing dish detergent like Dawn works best) into the clogged toilet. Follow this with three to four cups of really hot water.
We just use the cheapest dish washing soap we can buy to unclog a toilet. We allow it to seep down into the blockage for a length of time as it works due to the slipperiness that soap creates. Hot water is not needed and just adds an unnecessary step to the process.

Unclog a Toilet Without a Plunger
I use a product called GREEN GOBBLER in my apartment. It gets clogged up about once a month. I’m got tired of calling maintenance every few weeks. I put one packet of it in the toilet, let it sit overnight. Then I add Dawn and really hot water and flush and plunge it at the same time.
Works for me every time. Someone in my building flushes baby wipes which causes the clog in the first place.
