How can I get around vacuuming my carpet every day?

I have to vacuum my carpet every day. Has anyone found a way to get around that and it still look nice?

some do a better job than others.. For years I had canaster style.. Now I have a bagless DYSON.. w/ cord..Difference is night and day
Do you have pets? Do you have shag carpeting? Is there a lot of foot traffic on your carpeting? Is your carpeting white or very light? Do you have windows and doors open all day? These are the only reasons I can see vacuuming every day.
Get a Roomba or other such automatic vacuum. They do the work for you.
I vacuum my ground floor everyday also, plus make everyone take off their shoes. Light colored carpet and 100 pound Doberman rule supreme at my house. I have 2 shark vacuums, 1 for each floor of my house.
