Hi Bev. Measure the width and multiply by the height of each area you want to cover. Deduct for window and door areas. This will give you exactly what you need, but no room for mess ups😊 I usually include the unaltered areas because I ultimately cut it in an incorrect match up position.😀
I measure the height and width of each wall or area and multiply those numbers. I don't usually subtract window and door areas unless there are a lot because it's good to have extra in case of miss cuts, and you might not be able to get the same wallpaper color lot if you need it later. Different lots can vary slightly.
Take your room measurements to the wallpaper store and they can calculate it for you. This is really the best method since they also calculate in the pattern match and other things so you buy enough (but not TOO much!) extra paper.
