A while back I saw grill cleaning, putting grates in a plastic bag w/a solution. Don't know what it was but looked easy. Please help, thanks

We just take out racks, Spray down with oven cleaner, then hose off. If more is needed, soft scrub and a scrubby.
Ammonia.Place in large garbage bags an let them sit 24 hours.

The Easy Way To Clean Your Grill Before Grilling Season
When you have a few missed spots, waded up foil is great for scrubbing.
Thank you all for your replies. Going to try the ammonia in the plastic bag first, that sounds easy!
For the occasional deep-clean, grill grates can be cleaned in the sink or washtub. This method is optional, but can be good for removing marinades and sauces. Soak the grates s in regular dish soap, or Goo Gone Grate Cleaner.
Use a sponge, Brillo Pad or a Commercial Grade Grill Brush to scrub your grates. Blackened surfaces are part of the seasoning process. Therefore, deep cleans should only be done occasionally.
