How can I get sticky residue off of rubberized items?
I have a Chi flat iron that has been in a bag for 5 years and the rubberized part is so sticky that my hands stick to it. How do I get the sticky residue off? I have tried WD40, alcohol, and nail polish remover with acetone.

The rubber bits are just getting old and decaying. One of my girlfriends painstakingly used clear nail polish. Another covered with washi tape to extend the life of the tool.
Isopropyl Alcohol 90%
Lighter Fluid will work as well.
have you tried either goo gone or goof off. Both work very well.
