The best answer is a sump pump with a back up battery. We dealt with water in our basement for 25 years then finally put in the sump pump. We should have done it to begin with.

In addition, I would make sure the grading around the house slopes away from the structure to prevent further water intrusion. Might need to regrade if necessary.
