You can only do as much as you can. Use Alexis tips but also realize that weed seeds are going to drop on your lawn from your neighbors. Do the best you can but please don't let it overwhelm you. We "gave up" on the perfect lawn a long time ago since we live on a corner and have seeds flying on it from several directions. Feed the lawn, take care of it to the best of your knowledge and ability but - as the saying goes - "don't sweat the small stuff". :) Wishing you the best.
