Hi Janet. I am a big fan of Goo Gone. I use it all the time to get off anything sticky.
Goo Gone or WD40. You can also use cooking oil but sometimes removing the oil is almost not worth it.
Dawn dishwashing liquid and a damp sponge. Wipe dry.
I use Goo Gone if Dawn soap doesn't work.
I use spray laundry stain remover for some sticky things...like label residue from a glass jar and wax build up on ceramic tile. Still takes a little elbow grease as well.
Hi Janet, hope this helps you out.
Pour some vegetable oil on a paper towel or rag. Rub the oil over the sticky residue left behind on the shelf, and allow it to sit for several minutes. Scrape the residue away with a putty knife or scrub brush. Wipe the oil away with dry paper towels, then clean the cabinet surface with a damp sponge.
Or for particle board
Dip a clean rag in rubbing alcohol. Rub the adhesive with the alcohol, adding more to the rag as necessary while you work The alcohol dissolves the adhesive but evaporates quickly so it doesn't cause moisture damage to the particleboard.
I am a soaker. Soak a towel in Dawn and water and put it on the sticky stuff. Let it sit over night and come and remove the towel and wipe up the area. Repeat as needed to remove all the sticky residue.
Blue dawn dish soap in warm water should take the sticky off, if not the Goo Gone or WD40.
